005. Movies & Truck Pulls

I haven’t forgotten about this thing, I promise. I just haven’t had much luck when it comes to posting what I deem to be a “worthy” entry.

I watched Resevoir Dogs for the first time last night. Dan enjoyed it just as much as I did. Incase you’re not aware, I love Tarantino movies. If you ever want to get on my good side then sit down and watch one with me sometime. They’re not for everyone but I really enjoy them. It KILLS me to watch Kill Bill Vol. 1 without watching Vol. 2 right away. I love Pulp Fiction. The part with the adrenaline shot gets to me everytime. There are still a few of his movies I haven’t seen yet [a crime, I know] so I’ll be looking for them on Netflix or demonoid ASAP. I plan on having a movie marathon the next time we have an entire day free. Some of these movies are pretty long so we may need 2 days xD.

This weekend me and Dan are going to the Truck Pulls at the fairgrounds. I am so excited! When he took me to them during the fair, which was my first time going, I had a blast. I hope someone breaks something this time! All we saw last time was a drive shaft drop and a bumper smash in. NEED MOAR DESTRUCTION!

004. Week 2

Good afternoon! Today is the start of Week 2 of Dan’s new job. HE LOVES IT! He gets up at 2am to shower and have time to be fully awake before he leaves. It’s rough but, if we get to bed at a decent hour, it’s really not that bad. Trucks roll out at 4am and end the day between 4pm and 6pm, depending on how long it takes to haul the minimum 5 daily loads. They haul 3 loads on Saturdays so it’s considered a half day. He’s off on Sundays.

I get up with him at 2am. While he’s in the shower I pack his lunch and make sure his hat and hoodie aren’t MIA. When he’s done, I get a half an hour to 45 minutes of quality cuddling before he leaves. I stay awake until I know he’s there in one piece (habit I got into when he worked an hour and a half away in bad weather) then I try to go back to bed. I sleep anywhere from 4-5am to 9-10am, depending on how much sleep my body demands. It’s really screwing with me right now because we had a long weekend and it screwed up our routine. Staying up until 4am to play Minecraft isn’t recommended. 😛

I feel like I don’t really do a whole lot once I’m up for the day. Shower, ABC soaps, lots of messing around online. By the time Dan gets home I try to have dinner ready (or ready to go) and we do whatever he feels like until bed. It sounds like it would get boring, and it does have its moments, but I enjoy being home. It reminds me of when he was working before and I took care of everything: the laundry, the meals, the dishes, the cleaning. I’m trying to get back into the swing of that and so much more. It’s what I enjoy doing.

002. Laundry Woes

One load to wash, one load to dry, one load to fold.

Laundry — the bane of my existance.

I don’t mind taking care of it, aside from the folding, but today it’s irritating me. I let the laundry go longer than I usually do, for fear of “wearing out the washing machine” [my mother’s words, not mine]. I’m paying for it now. Two full loads and one half-assed load that wouldn’t fit in with either of the full ones. Personally, I believe that full loads will wear out the washer and dryer faster than doing a few small loads here and there will, but… not my call. I enjoy having a roof over my head and my mother values her appliances. End of story.

I think the main reason for my dislike of the necessary task lies in the fact that it’s basically a “sit and wait” ordeal. I’ll be the first one to tell you that I was born without patience, so sitting around and waiting on things is something I’ve never really been good at. I’m currently passing the time by indulging myself in some free digital scrapbooking kit. I used some of them for the banner and background of my blog and I may take up digital scrapbooking at some point.

Speaking of laundry, dryer’s done.

001. Welcome!

“Determined to Be Domesticated” — What does it mean?

Simply put, it means that I want to be a housewife but I have yet to master the arts. Cooking, cleaning, caregiving, so on and so forth. My entries will chronicle the day-to-day happenings in my world. It may not always be exciting, but it’s my life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
